[Following a productive — (productive? convincing it to to a brief stint identifying as a redheaded catgirl probably constitutes being productive, sure) — first meeting with Arche, the assembled members of the Agency are now left largely to their own devices, a little bit older and a little bit wiser, and in all likelihood probably a fair amount more confused than they were before.

After interacting with Arche, the flickering lights have all but ceased, presumably because Arche has proceeded to start...working on that, intent on doing what she can to make the facility a little more pleasant and liveable than it was before.

Following the various discussions, at least one thing seems apparent: the resident AI is having some memory loss, and is currently hard at work attempting to remedy that by searching for its missing memory cores in...well, however it is that AIs do that sort of thing, it's complicated and she probably wouldn't bore you with the specifics even if you asked.

So. That leaves a facility at your fingertips, and about eleven other people that you're apparently going to be dorm-mates with for at least the foreseeable future. Good luck with that?]

Well, I found this [ pulls out torn paper with sheet music on it ] in my room. Not that I would count that as learning anything, except perhaps a confirmation of there having been past agents.

Eh......where in your room did you find such a thing as that? [ Stops playing with the slinky to come over and lean over Kouichi's shoulder to peer at the paper. ] Music, huh...? I wonder if any of these people can play such things.

[ Shijima's certainly never bothered to learn. ]

Tch...there's no way I can figure out to get into those locked rooms...I thought perhaps if there were ventilation shafts...but so far I haven't found one, really.

[ So, she's being helpful...except not at all. ]

They're truly bothering me...if there are answers to this place, it's surely in one of those locked places we can't get to, don't you think?

In the desk. There were some other signs of it having been lived in before as well. I don't know, I was considering leaving it in the music room to find out.

[ There has to be some kind of ventilation in this place, otherwise how would they breathe for a sustained period of time...? ]

That's very true. There's a window on one of the locked doors, but I don't think breaking it would help us much.

An office, but it was too dark to make out much more than that.

Don't be ridiculous. Dark isn't an issue, the entire issue is that the window is only reachable by skyscrapers like yourself...!

[ That would be a no. They're fine enough company in some cases, she supposes. But none of them will stop her quest. ]

[ Fair enough. Though even Kouichi's attachment to anyone at home sure wouldn't stop him from anything, either.

All right, now they're at the door. Does Shijima want to just stand on Kouichi's spine or get a piggyback ride on his shoulders, or what. ]

[ She'll wait for him to boost her up onto his shoulders, holding up her arms. It's lucky she's so tiny. Once settled, she'll just...

Well, peer inside the room, cat-eyes flashing gold. ]

[The relatively small window doesn't provide much room to maneuver around and sweep the whole room from different angles, but she can see a little bit in there. The surrounding light from the hallway is reflecting a fair amount of glare off of the glass, though — is she doing something to mitigate that like cupping her hands over her eyes, or just looking in unassisted?]

[ She's cupping her hands and getting right up against the glass. ]

[Perfect! Between the lack of glare and her cat eyes, she's able to make out a fair amount more than the casual viewer.

Along with the big chair, desk, and two smaller chairs, it's apparent to her that there are a handful of items all set along one edge of the desk. From the way they're arranged, it looks as though they might have fallen at some point, and then were picked up and put back on the desk without much regard for where they would've been previously.

There also seems to be at least one set of shelves, and though it's difficult to make out, it seems as though the carpet is discolored in places.]

[ Well, those stains are potentially ominous. Can she make out what any of those items on the desk are, if she squints? ]

[It looks like there might be some pens, something roundish that might be a paperweight, and other odds and ends of that nature.]
